Santorini is famed for it’s ragged beauty and spectacular sunsets, making it a top 10 on many travellers bucket list. We made sure we saw the sunset from different vantage points. The first evening, we were pretty tired so we watched it from the patio outside our room in Imerovigli.
One tip I can give is to look around you as the setting sun paints different hues on the white buildings. The best spot to do that would be on a boat, from a sunset cruise.
The guidebooks will recommend many cafe’s and spots in Fira and Oia. Most of them were packed, including the open spaces near the church in Oia. Season was almost ending but it was still busy, we decided to take a walk along the coast instead of shoving for space. A few minutes down the road we found a quiet and almost deserted cafe just a few metres from the sea, jackpot.
