A Tribute to my Childhood Hero – Tintin

I got many gifts as a child, many of them disappeared like my favorite Monopoly set by Parkers Brothers, the push button pencil boxes and my sticker collection. One of the things which did remain intact is my collection of the 23 Tintin comics.

Looking back these low budget movies with their rubbery monsters and loose plots are pretty comic themselves.

 

 

 

I completed the collection by grade 6, and had to wait a good 20 years  to be gifted another by my aunt. I picked up 3 rare ones during my visit to the Belgian Comic Strip Center.

Tintin

My stay in Brussels was brief, and this center was on top of my list. A comic buff can spend a day or even a year at this museum  located in central Brussels spread over two floors. It even has a library where you can revisit some antique prints and drawings.
