Hope you have all recovered from the extended May Day weekend and the horrible sandstorm which nearly spoiled it. In my last post, we had visited this years Bahrain Heritage Festival,  where  the weaving traditions of the island which were on display.

Today’s pictorial is about the musical performances, food and other activities. There were different groups of local artists performing on various nights.  On the penultimate evening, we were treated to traditional music by the Galali Choir. I do not understand Arabic, but the music had this chant like quality which made me put the camera away after a while.

We enjoyed the evening so much that we landed there again on the closing eve. This time around, there was another troupe in action, their music being a bit upbeat tunes. Some of the young local boys danced on stage reminding me of time spent with the Greeks in university.
