The fair is an indoor trade fair where exhibitors from Levant and the far east come to sell their goods. There is variety but a lot of repetition as well, which can get on your nerve. Who wants 30 stalls selling the same honey, leggings  and Chinese duvets. I remember the first few years when I didn’t attend the event and made sure that I never passed on the Geant Road to Abraj al Lulu to avoid the horrific traffic jam.  Watching the chaotic scenes near the premises and the complete breakdown of parking arrangements in the vicinity I used to wonder why anyone would make the effort to make a visit. These days, I seem to quite enjoy the event and the ensuing melee, and visit on multiple days. Prices generally come down slightly  towards the last few days as the sellers prefer a quick sell than shipping the goods back.
